Perugina is based in Perugia and well known around the word for the “Baci” chocolates. A century ago a young Perugina Chocolatier was inspired to create a special dark chocolate and hazelnut confection for her beloved. She slipped a love note into each chocolate wrapper. The chocolate was named Bacio – Italian for “kiss”. It is dark chocolate with a whole hazelnut filled with milk chocolate and pieces of hazelnut.
